It is the spike protein that changes more often to make new variants. This is a case cohort study, not a prospective study, let alone a randomized study. Not the pinnacle of scientific evidence. ... editorial and not supported based on the preceding sections of the abstract. The results say nothing about mask wearing to prevent infection and transmission in this cohort. How does this study assess disease severity? A disease severity endpoint was certainly not included in the experimental design as outlined above. Why are these authors stating an opinion about public health recommendations? This is neither justified nor supported. This “Relevance” statement is basically yet more propaganda which the authors appear to have inserted because academic journal editors require this type of genuflection to the approved narrative. If I were the reviewer, I would call BS on this. ...the authors, who have clearly demonstrated a lack of objectivity. They have written the relevance section in a way that demonstrates that they have an agenda. ... The New York state officials reported that the effectiveness of Pfizer’s vaccine against Covid infection dramatically declined from 68% to 12% for children aged 5 to 11 during the omicron surge. ...Some argue it is the lower dosage, I argue it is that the vaccine is geared to the Wuhan strain (we created a situation with viral immune escape and as such driving these variants like Omicron due to natural selection and thus the ability of these variants to escape or to be not hit by the vaccine) and as seen in adults, fails across the board. It is pure nonsense, absurd, and reckless by the CDC’s Walensky, NIH’s Collins, NIAID’s Fauci, Health Canada’s Njoo and Tam, to continue this way with this vaccine strategy using sub-optimal ‘leaky’ non-sterilizing vaccines that do not stop infection or transmission, knowing full well that children bring near statistical zero risk to the table of severe illness from COVID and even far less due to the milder attenuated Omicron, and with a vaccine that confers no benefit (at best reduces mild symptoms and at worst kills them) and only skews toward harms for children.

A small South African study released Tuesday shows that Omicron infection may enhance immunity against the Delta variant of the coronavirus. .. The research, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, initially examined 15 people, some vaccinated and others not, who were infected with Omicron. ..The scientists then took samples to see if those people would be able to neutralize Omicron and Delta 14 days later. - In the U.K., symptomatic COVID-19 cases among “vaccinated” individuals have risen 40% in one week, reaching an average rate of 15,537 new infections a day being detected. Meanwhile, symptomatic COVID-19 cases among the unvaccinated has declined by 22% and is now at a current daily average of 17,588.
- This suggests the wave among unvaccinated has peaked and that natural herd immunity has set in, while “vaccinated” individuals are actually becoming more prone to infection.
- It is mathematically impossible for COVID shots to eliminate SARS-CoV-2 infection. The four available COVID shots in the U.S. provide an absolute risk reduction between just 0.7% and 1.3%. Meanwhile, the noninstitutionalized infection fatality ratio across age groups is a mere 0.26%. Since the absolute risk that needs to be overcome is lower than the absolute risk reduction these injections can provide, mass vaccination simply cannot have a favorable impact.
